From a numbers standpoint, Ewers came out on top at 23 of 41 for 211 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a rating of 110.1. In fairness to Ewers, Quintrevion Wisner dropped a first-quarter pass that would have put Texas in field goal range at the least. A 65-yard kick-off return by Matthew Golden was also erased on a holding call.

When nothing was going right for the Longhorns in the first half against Georiga, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian went to his bullpen. Sark took starting QB Quinn Ewers out of the game and inserted Arch Manning.
