Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday at the BRICS summit in Russia, India's foreign secretary said, their first meeting since 2020 when ties nosedived after their forces clashed on their disputed frontier.

PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met as India and China reached an agreement on patrolling arrangements at the LAC.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri did not confirm the timing of the meeting. This is the first formal meeting between the two leaders of state in 5 years.
